Stained glass is one of the most beautiful artistic mediums because in addition to utilizing the principles of color, shape, and texture, it uses light to create stunning visual effects that will change naturally depending on the time of day, the weather, and the season. Your piece will look different every single day, creating a never-ending display of color and light.
Projects can range in size to fit whatever the client desires.
Alyssa designs with the client and the overall design and glass selections are approved by the client before fabrication begins. This ensures that the end result will be the special work of art that the client will be able to enjoy forever.
Feel free to contact Alyssa with any design and application ideas! She loves being able to create something new and different and welcomes all subject matters, from family to pop culture, patterns to landscapes. Custom gifts can be ordered for any occasion, including birthdays, holidays, and weddings. Each product is 100% one of a kind.

Historic stained glass windows can be a breathtaking focal point to a space or a huge bonus feature. If the windows are built, waterproofed, and installed correctly, their lifespan could last for generations. However, while glass is a very durable material, outside factors, like weather or physical damage, are bound to intervene. In addition, the lead used predominantly in stained glass windows has an approximate lifespan of 100 years and the waterproofing often a shorter one.
This means that many historic windows are often in need of repairs. Alyssa is trained specifically in stained glass conservation. She has experience assessing the repairs required, fixing broken glass and solder joints, and replacing failing lead and waterproofing. There are often cases that an existing window is moved from one space to another, requiring resizing. Alyssa will work with the client to design and fit the window to its new space while preserving the original design.
In every restoration project, Alyssa's goal is always to preserve the history of the piece while also ensuring that these windows last for years to come.
In the stained glass craft, a cartoon is used to provide a detailed design, layout, and guideline for the physical stained glass window. Historically, many cartoons were not saved because the window was considered the true treasure; however, Alyssa takes these cartoons and utilizes them to create watercolor paintings.
Using a combination of ink and watercolors, the designs of these paintings pop off the page, creating effects reminiscent of true glass. Most importantly, each design can actually be built as a physical stained glass window. This concept is very important to the authenticity of Alyssa's work seeing as she wants to make sure these paintings are not only works of art on their own, but also are usable cartoons for future projects.
Any subject matter can be used to inspire a watercolor painting of a stained glass cartoon and any existing cartoon in the gallery can be the template for a stained glass window.
If you love the look of a stained glass window but aren't sure if you have the right setting for one, then a watercolor painting is for you! Feel free to contact Alyssa with ideas for watercolor paintings or explore the gallery to see what's available! Any existing paintings can be purchased as original copies, which are printed on watercolor paper to ensure the vibrancy of the colors.
